An introduction to backcountry touring/racing by bicycle. What is is and how to get started.

This is intended to encourage the development of a bikepacking community in the North Cariboo and will be followed up with an introductory overnighter when weather permits.

As a lifetime cyclist, Brian Kennelly has been bikepacking in BC and Alberta for 3 years and has completed several bike packing ‘events’: BC Epic 1000, Alberta Rockies 700, attended the Bikepacking Canada Summit twice and developed and traveled several bike packing routes in BC.

A brief slide show will be accompanied by a display and explanations of two bikepacking set-ups – trail oriented 27.5 FS and a 700 mm gravel bike. The presentation will also have Q & A’s throughout.

Admission by donation with proceeds to the Cariboo Ski Touring Club.
